A Narrative of World Classical Music History

Post-Orientalism Music is honored to announce that beginning January 1st, 2026, a new roadmap will commence in the activities of this label.
This path, titled "A Narrative of World Classical Music History," provides a framework for re-engaging with the classical heritage—not from an identity-centered perspective or through prevalent dichotomies, but rather based on an understanding that musical structure and knowledge belong to all humanity.
In many countries over the past decades, a misconception had become prevalent that suggested the performance and interpretation of periods in world music were beyond the capacity of certain cultures. The consequence of such a perspective was the expansion of nationalist performances and the limitation of possibilities for free engagement with the global heritage. Collective lack of confidence or technical inadequacies have also been significant issues in such readings, which can only be resolved and understood within the field of artistic experience.
In parallel with the post-Orientalism genre in the compositional domain, which has now become a familiar name among music specialists, Post-Orientalism Music is prepared to release the first album of this collection on January 1st, 2026. This album will include performances of works by Johann Sebastian Bach, performed by distinguished pianist Mahya Mahroomi.
This release represents a step in the direction of presenting performance narratives from the Baroque and Classical repertoire, with a focus on quality, clarity of musical structure, and the restoration of connection with the global heritage.
In the coming year, Post-Orientalism Music will continue its path in producing and releasing diverse performances from the literature of classical music.
With respect,
Post-Orientalism Music
