About the Album
Composer’s Note
Following the publication of the six-volume series QuarkTonal: Quatrains Vol. 1–6 in 2024, and the release of my book Aesthetics of Post-Orientalism: Philosophy of Composition with its accompanying audio exemplars in 2025, this album serves as a practical extension of the QuarkTonal theory.
The collection comprises twenty-one short compositions in which QuarkTonal structures are applied through polyphonic techniques of varying complexity.
The four primary waveforms—Sine, Saw, Square, and Triangle—in their raw form, are generated within a Python-based framework I developed, enabling precise frequency production calibrated to a two-cent unit.
Using rigorous contrapuntal methods, this work explores and illustrates the aesthetic implications of my compositional approach.

Ehsan Saboohi – Biography
Ehsan Saboohi is a Post-Orientalist composer and music theorist who operationalized the QuarkTonal system — a precise microtonal framework used both as a compositional language and as a research methodology.
His QuarkTonal research defines the "quark" as a 2-cent unit within a rigorously organized 600-note structure, integrating formal theory, notational practice, and coding to produce repeatable experimental compositions and scores.
He holds an M.A. in Composition, has taught at various universities for over three decades, and is the founder of Post-Orientalism in music. He has contributed to more than 216 albums as composer and in artistic direction (A&R — Artists & Repertoire).
